Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00/hr (depending on experience)

Job Purpose:

The Accounting Assistant embodies our company values as they provide high-volume support to various functions within our accounting and finance department, demonstrating a commitment to honor commitments and uphold accuracy in financial processes. Additionally, they extend administrative assistance to our extensive network of heavy-duty truck dealerships situated across the Midwest region, creating positive experiences through their attentive and efficient service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Honor Commitments:

  • Maintain an accurate general ledger: Upholding integrity and accountability in financial records is paramount to honoring our commitments to accuracy and transparency. It ensures that our financial data reflects the true state of our business affairs.

  • Post and review all general ledger journal entries: By meticulously reviewing and verifying all journal entries, we ensure completeness and accuracy in our financial reporting, fulfilling our commitment to honor commitments and maintain reliability.

  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Daily posting of all bank activity: Consistently posting bank activity on a daily basis ensures that our financial records remain up-to-date, reflecting our commitment to honor commitments and timely reporting.

  • Provide excellent customer service: Delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders fosters positive experiences and strengthens relationships, enhancing trust and loyalty in our brand.

  • Participate in monthly financial statement analysis: Actively engaging in financial statement analysis provides valuable insights into our company's financial performance, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Assist in generating all manual and system check runs: Involvement in check run processes offers opportunities to enhance skills and understanding of financial operations, contributing to personal and professional growth.

Exhibit Pioneering Spirit:

  • Generate company checks through a daily, weekly, and bi-monthly check run system: Implementing a structured check run system reflects our proactive approach and innovative spirit in financial management, ensuring timely and efficient processing of payments.

  • Distribute checks accordingly: Efficient and accurate distribution of checks demonstrates our commitment to operational excellence and reflects our pioneering spirit in streamlining financial processes.

Demonstrate Good Stewardship:

  • Manage company vehicle use: Oversight of company vehicle usage involves responsible management of resources, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, reflecting our commitment to good stewardship.

  • Track users, mileage, title, and registration of company-owned fleet: Detailed tracking of fleet usage and documentation ensures proper management and maintenance, reflecting our commitment to good stewardship and operational efficiency.

  • Maintain company trip records: Accurate record-keeping of company trip activities enhances transparency and accountability, demonstrating our commitment to good stewardship and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Calculate and file quarterly fuel tax: Compliance with regulatory requirements in filing quarterly fuel tax returns demonstrates our commitment to good stewardship and adherence to legal obligations.

Other Duties as Assigned:

  • Adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and undertake additional responsibilities as required, reflecting our commitment to flexibility and responsiveness in meeting business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 year Accounting degree

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Data entry with strong 10-key skills

  • High Attention to detail

  • Strong Organizational Skills

  • Ability to multitask

  • Strong Excel and Google Application skills
