MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
Benefit Analyst II ($60,320 - $75,400)
- Must possess a working knowledge of business and human resources practices at a level normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in human resources management, business administration, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience; and
- Two years' employee benefits experience.
Benefit Analyst III ($69,380 - $86,730)
- In addition to four-year degree or experience noted above, five years' in-depth experience with employee benefits program management and compliance.
Benefit Analyst IV ($79,760 - $99,700)
- In addition to four-year degree or experience noted above, seven years in-depth employee benefit program management, benefits accounting, funding, and compliance experience in welfare and qualified plans.

- This position is located on site at the MDU Resources Corporate Campus in Bismarck, ND
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.

- Benefits program certification or certification as a human resource professional.
- Excel experience should include use of formulas and descriptive statistic functions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Administer the design, analysis, and administration of the employee benefits programs.
- Track, monitor, and analyze claims, fees, premiums, costs, data, and access; reconcile discrepancies; interpret analysis; develop summary reports, including analysis and interpretation for management review and decision making.
- Coordinate, gather, compile, and test data to complete all nondiscrimination and coverage testing, true-up calculations, pension valuation, Retiree Drug Subsidy (RDS) and/or premium building for various benefit plans, plan design considerations, compliance, and other requirements.
- Serve as resource for employees and retirees on existing benefits, which includes handling inquiries related to benefits and policies, as well as resolving issue as they arise.
- Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
